At Triangle Physicians for Women, we believe that serving the Triangle community doesn’t end with providing healthcare. To thrive, communities need people who take an active role in improving the lives of their neighbors. That’s why we’re proud to support local student Bayla Shashadri and Cary Academy by serving as a collection site for their suit drive initiative.
Bayla is an 11th grader at Cary Academy and has experienced firsthand the positive impact of speech and debate through her participation in the Triangle Debate League. The Triangle Debate League’s mission is to go into underserved areas of the community and teach them speech and debate skills.
Bayla is working hard to assist the Triangle Debate League in its mission by providing students with appropriate competition clothing so they can compete in tournaments. Because wearing formal attire is a necessity at tournaments, many students do not have the means to participate. By removing this barrier, Bayla hopes that more students will be able to experience the benefits of speech and debate. She says, “I know that speech can change lives. My hope is for others to have that experience.”
You can donate both men’s and women’s suits and other business attire at the Triangle Physicians for Women office in Cary, NC from now until December 15th.
