Kaela I. Pearce M.D., F.A.C.O.G.
Originally from Cary and a graduate of Cardinal Gibbons High School, Kaela I. Pearce, MD, board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology, returned home in the summer of 2021 to join Triangle Physicians for Women. Dr. Pearce attended Lehigh University in Bethlehem, PA on a basketball scholarship and went on to medical school in Philadelphia, PA at Jefferson Medical College. After graduating from medical school in 2014, Dr. Pearce began active duty service for the US Air Force. She completed her residency at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, MD and then practiced for three years at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, TX, caring for military members and their dependents.
During her seven years in the Air Force, Dr. Pearce was promoted to rank of Major and earned multiple awards for leadership and education along the way, including the Ernest G. Lockrow Innovation and Leadership Award, USUHS Excellence in Teaching Award, and the CREOG Faculty Award for Excellence in Resident Education. At BAMC, she served as the Assistant Residency Program Director in Quality Improvement and Patient Safety and the USUHS Third Year Medical Student Rotation Coordinator.
Stepping away from academic military medicine, Dr. Pearce is excited to become a leader in the local community and to continue to teach and empower women of the triangle area about their own health and wellness. In her spare time, Dr. Pearce enjoys traveling to new places and eating like a local, competing with friends across the country on her Peloton bike, and spending time with her wife and two dogs.
